Planting:  spinkle the seeds.  Once the plants get to being 3-5 cm tall, you must thin them out leaving a space of about 2.5 and 5 cm between them. Basil likes moist, but not overly watered soil.

When the plant gets to being 15 cm tall, take off its top parts so as to encourage leaf growth and not have a tall bare basil plant. Cut off the small leaves growing in between the larger leaf pairs of mature plants each week. This frequent picking creates faster leaf growth.
